There are plenty of ideas about how to begin a project but one of the best comes from Glinda the Good, the witch of the north (according to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz): "It's always best to start at the beginning."
Days - the Gin Club, from 2008, their album was titled Junk, the band was from Brisbane and includes prolific singer-songwriter Ben Salter.
I Listen to the Night - Matt Walker, the title track of his 1997 album, with Ash Davies on drums.
Colourblind - Liz Stringer, from her 2012 album Warm In the Darkness.

Delta - the Bures Band, a single that came out in July ahead of their album Ozonia, an August arrival.
Monkey Puzzle - Marcel Borrak, from his latest LP, a solo project titled Sun Dust, also out in August. It was reportedly "inspired by Marcel's love of Indian music."
Squid - Fancy Weapon, from their self-titled first album, a June release. It's the first album under that name but these folks are not debutantes: the band comprises Mick Turner (Dirty Three), Claire Birchall (Smoked Salmon), Joel Silbersher (GOD) and Guy Maddison (Mudhoney).
Fever Dream - Bagful of Beez, it's the first single from their new album, which is titled In Parallax and is promised for late September.
Guitar Hero
Erica Dunn - singer, songwriter, plays guitars and keys, band leader - stays busy. We heard songs from three of her projects:
- Waiting For the Gate, Erica Dunn performing as Palm Springs on the 2025 album Turning Yr back On the Dolphin.
- Ammo, Mod Con, a guitar-bass-drums combo (some might call it a power trio, others might observes that they are all women playing these instruments), from their album Modern Condition, which came out in 2021.
- Teeth Marche (marks), Erica Dunn in a band whose name we can't say on community radio, Tropical F*** Storm, from their 2025 album Fairyland Codex, along with Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin from the Drones and Lauren Hammel from High Tension.

Also in that group of musical events was comedy by Aaron Chen from a show in 2022, and a 1966 ad selling Holden cars
Stay In Your Lane - Courtney Barnett, from her album Creature of Habit, which came out in late March.
Sunburned in London - a recent single, recent as in it came out in February, by a band with the snappy name Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - they've been working since 2013 and have release three albums so apparently the name isn't a problem.
Fade Away - Things of Stone And Wood, from their album titled Rae Street, another March arrival.
