Once again we have more new releases to play for you. All four songs in this first segment will be the very latest brand new songs just released in May. First up will be from a May 21st release from guitarist Marc Antoine. Antoine is originally from Paris, then he moved to London to be part of Basia’s backing ensemble, then on to Los Angeles where he worked with Sting, Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, Selena and many others. He has released several excellent albums since 1994. He lived for an extended period in Spain before making his home in Laguna Beach. He has collaborated with many Smooth Jazz artists, the most recent being the album So Nice with pianist David Benoit. I have our very first listen from Antoine’s latest album, Something About Her with his song Groovy Sunday.
Continuing with the very latest, May 10th The Jazz Holdouts released a single titled April And May. This group consists of an exciting array of artists that have worked with the biggest names in music. As a group The Jazz Holdouts have had several big hits including their huge Billboard number one hit Summer Nights in 2017. We will hear their latest single April And May.
June 18th saxophonist Steve Cole will release a new album titled Smoke And Mirrors. From Chicago Cole has been treating us to great music since his debut album in 1998. He gained attention working alongside Brian Culbertson in the late 1990’s. He is also a member of the terrific group Sax Pak, all saxophone players with Kim Waters and Jeff Kashiwa. I have an early listen from Cole’s highly anticipated album. Our first listen from Smoke And Mirrors is Living Out Loud.
And we have the release of a new single May 7th by the very busy superstar saxophonist Dave Koz who has been currently topping the billboard Smooth Jazz charts from his 2020 album A New Day with the song Dr Norm. His new single is titled Today and features an entire band of instrumentalists including the guitar of Cory Wong.
