Soon there will be more new releases in 2019. This program starts with more from this years only new released album in smooth jazz so far. It has already vaulted in its first week on the charts to number six on the jazz albums chart. That would be Jazz Funk Soul’s Life And Times.  This is their third album. On the first two, the guitarist was Chuck Loeb. He passed away in July 2017. I was surprised and pleased to see this group return with American Idol and Tonight Show guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. On all their new songs you can clearly hear  the keys of Jeff Lorber, the sax of Everette Harp, and the guitar of Paul Jackson Jr. as they blend together to produce some really great music. I have a double listen from the January 25th release of this fantastic new album.

I have more new releases from Acoustic Alchemy, Michael Buble, Jeff Goldblum, Jazmin Ghent, Herb Alpert, Kayla Waters, Jazz Holdouts, and Gerald Albright.

In the middle of the first hour as always I play Billboard's top three songs in smooth jazz.

The second hour is devoted to great music from the classic old in smooth jazz.

Beyond amazing is our closing song. We have been ending with classics among classics from the formative years of smooth jazz. Tonight’s offering is one of the true great songs. In 1977 this song was written and performed by flugelhorn and electric piano player Chuck Mangione. Among other artists on this work, we once again find guitarist Grant Geissman. We heard him as part of a David Benoit classic, classic three weeks ago. Geissman has done extensive work on TV on numerous shows but he is perhaps best known for the themes of Monk and Two And A Half Men. Chuck Mangione plays the title track to the album Feels So Good.
