Did you all catch the recent PBS series Great Performances? If so you saw our week three featured artist Grammy Award winning trumpeter Chris Botti’s wonderful concert at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. Botti and his group of fantastic musicians play between 265 to 270 dates a year. While he plays the major cities and venues including The Boston Pops, he states that he enjoys playing smaller more intimate venues where he has closer contact with his fans.

Such was the case with his two performances I attended in Redding. My wife and I left both shows awed and moved.  I can assure you Chris Botti can always be counted on for a great show. Some of the songs he performed on the PBS special have been played on this show. Watch for repeats on PBS. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Before we begin this evenings new releases, I will play a song from his incomparable trumpet.

This evening I have new releases from Kim Waters, The Jeff Lorber Fusion, Jeff Ryan, Michael Lington, Brian Simpson, Adam Hawley, and Gerald Albright.

I will play the top three songs in smooth jazz. There is a new billboard number one this week.

In our second hour turn up the quiet time, I will play some of the classic songs from smooth jazz.

Our conclusion will feature two artists that years ago were responsible for hooking me into my love of Smooth Jazz.
