Smooth Jazz star Craig Chaquico plays concert in Shasta Lake City-Info & Music

My apologies. We had a star of smooth jazz in our midst and I did not know about it until it was too late to inform you. If you ever see anything upcoming locally please drop me a line at smoothside @ KKRN.org. What I missed telling you about was Smooth jazz Grammy Award nominated guitarist Craig Chaquico who played a free concert on September 14th as part of the City Of Shasta Lake 25th anniversary celebration. I was there and found his smooth jazz and rock music from his previous career top notch. I have a lot of new releases to play so I will save more information about Craig Chaquico’s career and I will play some of his music immediately after the five in a row segment in our second hour tonight.

Tonight I am so very pleased to have for you a fabulous August 24th new release from one of the really great gentlemen, South African singer, songwriter, and guitarist Jonathan Butler. I have seen him in live performance twice once in San Diego and once in Sacramento, both fantastic shows. He has a silky, soulful voice and plays a suburb guitar. The album title is Close To You. He gives his own contemporary spin to the music of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. You will easily recognize all these songs. They are timeless.

I have another new album, one that has a strange history. A single was released in April 2017 by the Jazz Holdouts titled Summer Nights. An album was supposed to follow. Well the song was well received and climbed up the charts to become a billboard number one in July 2017. But no album followed. I had almost forgotten about it when August 27th, a year and one-half later, the album Summer Nights was finally released. It’s a good one and I think it will prove worth waiting for.

I also have new releases from Kim Waters, Paul Brown, The Jeff Lorber Fusion, Eric Darius, Steve Oliver and Brian Simpson.

I will play Billboard's top three songs in smooth jazz in the middle of the first hour.

In the second hour I have for you lots of the classic  songs from smooth jazz.

I have information on the smooth jazz concert in Shasta Lake City and music from Grammy nominated guitarist Craig Chaquico. Next week I will have more on that concert including information and music from Chaquico's current project.
