This week's featured artist is saxophonist Mindi Abair. She is a very versatile artist that also is an excellent keyboardist and singer. She plays a wide variety of music formats. Her music is always upbeat, spirited, and fun listening.

Mindi has toured and performed with Adam Sandler, John Tesh Jonathan Butler, Teena Marie, Rick Braun, The Backstreet Boys, Mandy Moore, Bruce Springsteen, and Aerosmith.

Mindi was the featured saxophonist on American Idol for two seasons. We have a good story about Steven Tyler, a judge on that show, and how it came about that he hired Mindi to tour with Aerosmith.  Mindi also has played with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra on the Late Show with David Letterman and on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Mindi Abair has had ten number one hits and has been nominated for Grammy Awards for her work on Dave Koz’s Summer Horns, and for her 2014 album Wild Heart. She is a published author, a radio hostess, and a National Trustee for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the organization that puts on the Grammy Awards show.
